IICMR MCA Department celebrated Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Jayanti on 16th April 2025 with reverence and enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Shaila Shinde, Mahila Police Amaldar of Pune District. Marathi Bhasha Divas Celebration at IICMR MCA – 27th February 2025

The IICMR MCA Department celebrated Marathi Bhasha Divas with pride and enthusiasm on 27th February 2025 at the institute library. The event began with heartfelt anchoring by Ms. Bhairavi Joshi, setting the tone for the cultural celebration. Rohit More, a student of MCA-I, mesmerized the audience with a soulful Ghazal performance. Dr. Abhay Kulkarni, Director of IICMR, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the importance of the Marathi language in preserving cultural identity. A special Marathi book exhibition was also organized, showcasing literary treasures of Marathi literature.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Celebration at IICMR MCA – 26th February 2025

IICMR MCA Department celebrated Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti with great enthusiasm and cultural pride on 26th February 2025. A student dressed as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and a girl portrayed Jijamata, reflecting the spirit of valor and guidance. A beautifully decorated palanquin with Maharaj’s image was arranged, and students energized the atmosphere with traditional drum and tasha performances. Adding a modern touch, MCA students presented a compelling Pathnatya titled "Cyber Mavala", aimed at spreading awareness about cyber security in today’s digital world.

Gad Sanvardhan Activity – Visit to Purandar Fort by IICMR MCA Students – 22nd February 2025

As part of the Gad Sanvardhan (Fort Conservation) initiative, students of IICMR MCA visited the historic Purandar Fort on 22nd February 2025. Gad Sanvardhan at Sinhgad Fort

On April 16, 2024, the MCA department of IICMR organized a Study Marathon - "10 Hours Extensive," marking Dr. Ambedkar's legacy in a distinctive manner. Dr. Deepali inaugurated this enlightening marathon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, setting the tone for an inspiring day ahead.
As the day unfolded, students delved into 10 hours of dedicated study sessions, embodying Dr. Ambedkar's spirit of perseverance and academic excellence. The evening witnessed a memorable valedictory function, graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Madhav Patil, President of Bath Pill Organization, as the chief guest.

Nail Free Tree Mission

Taking action for a greener tomorrow! IICMR MCA Department organized a fantastic ASR activity: "Nail-Free Tree" in collaboration with Bath Pill Association. Mr. Madhav Patil, Founder Director Bath Pill Association , enlightened students on the importance of preserving our trees without nails.
With determination and enthusiasm, our students took to the streets of Nigdi Pradhikaran along Gudluck Cafe Road to remove nails from trees. Their efforts are not just about removing nails but about nurturing and caring for our precious greenery. Let's continue to work together to protect and cherish our environment!

Savitribai Phule Jayanti

Savitribai Phule Jayanti was celebrated with great zeal in IICMR on 3 January 2024 organised by ASR MCA department. The celebration began with tribute to great Savitribai Phule. Mrs. Renu Mathew addressed the students, explained that how difficult it was for a women to get education in 18th Century .
MCA first year student Ms. Aishwarya Patil delivered speech which gave detailed information about Savitribai Phule in Marathi. Mr. Omkar Shinde read peom in memory of Savitribai Phule.

Mera Mati Mera Desh -2023

On the eve of the 75th year of Independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative. The countrymen from all over the country hoisted the tricolor flag on their houses, showing respect for their mother India, their freedom fighter. A year full of patriotism, and the conclusion of this statute, the initiative "Meri Mati Mera Desh" was announced by the Prime Minister in his Mann Ki Baat programme. 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' is the culminating program to celebrate 75 years of India's independence.
"Meri Mati Mera Desh" program was organized by MCA Department at IICMR College, Nigdi. Our country is a country of warriors, warriors and farmers. Our soil has been sanctified by the blood of warriors. Such programs are conducted in the college to make the students interested in every freedom fighter, border guard and every warrior who laid down their life for the country, and also to inculcate the sense of patriotism and patriotism among the students.

IICMR MCA ASR team participated in 5km marathon - Sankalp nasha mukti .. An initiative against drugs ... Bhago and Nasha Bhagao at Lonavala Today morning . Good coordination is done by Jeevan Lembe, Nishant Rajbeer and Sidhant Amrutkar MCA 1 students. The event was organised by Pune Gramin Police with the presence of Mr. Sunil Shetty , Actor Bollywood. Students were awarded with participation certificate and gift. A special thanks to Sr. Sergeant Nitin Kadam Sir for guiding us for the same.

International Women's Day 2023

International Women's Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the campus, with Ms.
Sneha Shinde, a national-level powerlifting player, as the chief guest. The event was
organized to celebrate the achievements of women and to promote women's empowerment.
Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director-MCA, delivered an inspiring speech on the occasion,
emphasizing the importance of gender equality and women's rights.
Dr. Abhay Kulkarnim, Director IICMR and Dr. Ashwini Kulkarnim Executive Director ATSS
trust also addressed the audience and motivated them through their inspiring words. The
lady faculty members showcased their talents through various performances, including
poems and music, which were well-received by the audience.

The male faculty members also played an important role in the event by organizing various
games and activities for the female faculty members. Their efforts were greatly appreciated,
and everyone enjoyed the evening's celebrations.

Marathi Bhasha Divas 2023

To celebrate Marathi Bhasha Divas on February 27, which honours the birth anniversary of
the famous Marathi poet Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, popularly known as ‘Kusumagraj’,
IICMR MCA arranged an exhibition of Marathi language books at the IICMR library. This
exhibition aimed to promote Marathi literature and encourage students to read Marathi
books. The event was well-received by the students, who showed interest in reading the
books and learning more about Marathi culture and language.

Shivjayanti 2023

On February 22nd, 2023, IICMR celebrated the 393rd Birth Anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with great enthusiasm and energy. The program began with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding of the idol of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by Dr. Deepali Sawai, Ms. Renu Mathew, and other dignitaries. Students presented Shivaji Maharaj Ghoshna, Powada, group dances, and poems that highlighted his significant contributions to the country. Dr. Deepali Sawai briefed the audience on how Shivaji Maharaj overcame intense challenges and why he continues to inspire people. The program was hosted by Ms. Neha Pandey and Mr. Shriram Patil, and it provided a great opportunity for students and faculty members to celebrate the life and legacy of one of the greatest leaders in Indian history.

On January 3rd, 2023, Savitribai Phule Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm at
IICMR as a tribute to her invaluable contributions to society. As a part of the celebration,
students and faculty members visited “Masti ki Pathshala” in Ravet, a school that provides
education and personal attention to children of migrant laborers. The day was spent
teaching basic Mathematics and Marathi literature in a fun and engaging way that
captured the children's attention. The volunteers at the event used innovative teaching
techniques that made the learning process more interactive and enjoyable for everyone
involved. The visit to “Masti ki Pathshala” was a productive and fulfilling experience for all,
as it provided an opportunity to give back to the community while also honoring the legacy

Blood Donation Drive 2023

Voluntary blood donors play a critical role in ensuring a safe and sufficient supply of blood
for those in need. In partnership with HDFC Bank and Pimpri Chinchwad Blood Bank, the
'Blood Donation Drive 2023' was launched on December 5th, 2023. The event was
inaugurated by Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director of IICMR MCA, and Ms. Priyanka Kadam,
Branch Head of HDFC Bank, Hinjewadi. The students displayed great enthusiasm and
participated actively in the drive. A total of 57 students, comprising both MCA and MBA
students, stepped forward as voluntary donors, making the event a great success. By
actively participating in this blood donation drive, the students demonstrated their
commitment to giving back to their community and supporting those in need.

Constitution Day Celebration 2022

On November 26 th 2022, Constitution Day was celebrated as an initiative by ASR, aimed at
promoting awareness of the importance of the Indian Constitution. The program began with
a formal explanation of the significance of the constitution to students, followed by a reading
of the Preamble. During the event, all students and faculty members reaffirmed their
commitment to the ideology of the Constitution. Additionally, an awareness rally was
organized, which was attended by both students and faculty. Through these efforts, the
celebration of Constitution Day helped to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for
the principles and values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

Kargil Vijay Divas 2022

The Kargil Vijay Divas is also known as Operation Vijay Divas. It is commemorated by every Indian to mark their respect towards soldiers. The Kargil war between India and Pakistan broke out in May 1999, and the intense fight between the nations continued for sixty days. On 26th July, the war was officially declared over, proclaiming the Indian army victorious. Even though India became victorious, we lost 527 courageous souls, and 1363 soldiers were wounded in the war. Who can neglect those brave sacrifices? Let’s remember their fortitude and be grateful to them. With this thought IICMR MCA celebrated Kargil Vijay Divas on 26th July 2022 at 12.30 pm in IICMR auditorium .The program started with introductory speech by Mr. Mukesh Choudhari MCA 1 student. Later on a clip on Captain Vijayant Thapar and his brave story on Kargil day was shown to the students. With that heroic saga All teachers and students Hands filled with pride. The program ended by giving tribute to all brave heros. All MCA students ans staff along woth Hod Renu Mathew were present for the program . Shivrajyabhishek Din 2022

The coronation of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj also known as Shivrajyabhishek will be celebrated worldwide. In IICMR, the ASR committee organised the Shivrajyabhishek Day celebration on 6th June 2022 at 10:00 am. On this occasion, Dr Deepali Sawai and Ms Renu Mathew offered garlands on the statue of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Dr Deepali Sawai gave an inspiring speech about the occasion Shivrajyabhishek. Mr Balwant Jadhav MCA's first year presented a group song about the inspiring history of Shivaji Maharaj. All MCA students and teachers have participated in this event.

Holi Celebration - Puran Poli Donation

Holi is a festival of colour, joy and excitement. #IICMR #MCA students and the staff celebrated the festival in a unique way. According to the Indian tradition, Holi is celebrated by offering Puran Poli in Holika as a Holi prasad. IICMR MCA students decided to give the same to needy people instead of giving it to Holika. The students collected about 150 Puranpoli and donated them to Sant Maunibaba Old Age Home, Akurdi. Students sang songs for entertainment and interacted with the inmates. Dr Deepali Sawai, Director of IICMR MCA lauded the students for this initiative and wished them success in their future endeavors. The initiative was planned by Prof. Vandana Pednekar ASR Coordinator and the students.

International Women's Day 22

“Women are the real architects of society.”
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. IICMR- MCA celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March 2022 under the ASR initiative with great pomp.
Ms Monika Gole, National player Shivkalin Martial arts was the chief guest for the programme. The program started with the salutation of Maa Saraswati. Dr Deepali Sawai, Director IICMR wished everyone a Happy Women’s Day and spoke about gender parity, how women are equal to men at any task. Ms Renu Mathew, HOD- IICMR MCA shared some positive stories showcasing gender equality. Chief guest Miss. Monika spoke about how self-defence is possible by having a presence of mind. The Guest along with her team demonstrated various Shivkalin martial arts like lathi- Kathi, Talwar, Dandpatta to the audience. It was a wonderful experience.
Games were conducted for the lady faculty members and for the girl students by the MCA I year boy student representatives Mr. Manoj and Mr. Nikhil. Miss. Vaishanvee Patil gave a speech on the changing role of women in a family. Miss Minal N. rendered a beautiful poem. The programme also witnessed singing and dance performances by Miss. Neha A.i , Miss Megha N. and Mr.Yash . All the ladies felt privileged and enjoyed the evening. As a token of gratitude, there was a songs medley by the IICMR MCA and MBA faculty members. The programme culminated with a vote of thanks by Miss. Neha and the high tea served under the coordination Mr. Ganesh Naik and Adarsh Agarwal. Mr. Yash Shrivastav and Mr. Rutik M. compeered the event. The entire event was coordinated by Ms. Vandana Pednekar, ASR coordinator IICMR MCA.

Shivjayanti Celebration 2022

Shivaji Jayanti was celebrated with great zeal in IICMR on 18 February 2022 organised by ASR MCA department. The celebration began with the Shivaji arti and tribute to great king Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Dr. Deepali Sawai , Director IICMR MCA addressed the students, said that Shivaji Maharaj did not have huge army in spite of it he founded Swarajya by defeating Mughals and Adilshahis by using his intelligence. MCA first year students presented Ganesh Vandana followed by speech by Kapil Bhise MCA1 which gave some important facts of Shivaji Maharaj in Marathi.Ms. Vrunda Kulkarni MCA1 student presented song in memory of Shivaji Maharaj. Mr. Vinit Mali MCA 1 presented Life story of Shivaji Maharaj through beautiful PowerPoint presentation. Balvant Jadhav and group MCA 1 presented group dance. Mr. Manoj Kandi and group sang a powada on the velour and bravery of Shivaji Maharaj.

The celebration concluded with vote of thanks by Ashwini Wahmode and Nikhil Parmar. The program was coordinated by Ms. Vandana Pednekar coordinator ASR MCA Department.

National Youth Day 2022

“Fill the brain with high thoughts, highest ideals, place them day and night before you,and out of that will come Great work” - Swami Vivekananda. To commemorate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, maker of Modern India, National Youth day was celebrated with great joy, enthusiasm in IICMR MCA by ASR team. Celebration of National Youth Day started with the primary aim of sensitizing the students about the philosophies, principles and ideas of Swami Vivekanada. At the same time IICMR MCA gave tribute to Rajamata Jijau on her birth anniversary. The students were motivated to be good citizens of India, thus contributing to the development of the country. A lecture was delivered by Mr. Balaji Jadhav Founder – Lakshya Gurukul on Goal setting and Goal getting . The inspiring stories of Swami Vivekananda’s life were briefed to the students by Mr. Balaji made the session more interesting and captivating. All MCA First year and Second year students attended the program along with department HOD Prof. Renu Mathew and teaching non teaching staff. Institute of Industrial Computer Management and Research, MCA Department celebrated a 191st Birth Anniversary of Savitribai Phule in the Institute on Monday , 3rd January 2022 at 3.00 pm.
Program started with worship of Savatribai Phule with flowers. MCA first year Students gave speeches on “Savitribai Phule – Life and achievements “, “Morals from great personality – Savitribai Phule ”. Through this programme students came to know about Savitribai Phule’s early life and what she contributed for the society as well as for women’s empowerment.
For the said program Department Hod Ms. Renu Mathew and entire teaching n- non teaching staff and both MCA I and II year students were present. Constitution Day Celebration 2021

On 26th November 2021 Constitution day was celebrated under the Academic Social Responsibility initiative of IICMR which was organized by MCA Department. The event commenced at 10.50 a.m in the presence of the Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of IICMR-MCA in Auditorium. The programme formally commenced by explaining importance of constitution to the MCA second year and third year students followed by reading of the preamble to the constitution and reaffirming our commitment to its ideology.
On this occasion, Ms. Kiran Shinde read the preamble along with all staff and students. The program concluded with airing a video on The Constitution of India. Ms. Vandana Pednekar Coordinator ASR IICMR, MCA coordinated the program.

International Yoga Day 2021

The seventh edition of the International Yoga Day kicked off on Monday with people across the world taking part in Yoga sessions to mark the day. In IICMR, Academic Social Responsibility committee organised International Yoga day on 21st Jun 2021 at 10.00 am in association with Vivekanand Kendra, Kanyakumari , Chinchwad branch. The guest speaker, Mr. Kishore Kakade- Vivekanand Kendra Kanyakumari explained the benefits of yoga and how Yoga will help the world in the fight against the COVID -19 pandemic. Faculty members of MCA and MBA departments performed Yoga in IICMR auditorium adhering strictly to the social distancing under the guidance of Mr. Avinash Gokhale , Vivekanand Kendra Chichwad branch. Celebrations and the session were mured and held online for the students due to the pandemic.

World Environment Day – Tree Plantation and Tree Conservative Program

Every year IICMR launches an extensive Tree Plantation and Tree Conservative Program on the occasion of the World Environment Day in IICMR campus. In 2021 due to the Pandemic situation, social distancing was the utmost priority. So tree plantation was held with selected staff of IICMR - admin, library and teaching. This year, the participants selected the empty places to plant saplings in a well-organized way. The participants planted saplings, and fenced them and watered the plants. The event was conducted by the Institute as the part of it's Academic and Social Responsibility. All the participants were happy towards their contribution to the society.

International Women's Day 21

“It is in this generation’s reach to transform gender relations, to empower women and girls, and humanity as a whole”. Along with millions of people around the globe, the IICMR MCA department also celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8 2021, a day that honours the achievements and calls attention to the rights of women. Students attended the program online. They expressed their thoughts on the “precious women of their lives“. The program proceeded with the games for the ladies’ staff of the department. MCA 1 first-year students arranged various games for the lady faculty members. All ladies enjoyed the evening. All the women present in the celebration were served high tea. The celebration ended with a great triumph. Ms Amruta Elwande and Ms Joycee Salve compeered the event and Ms Vandana Pednekar, coordinator of ASR proposed a vote of thanks

Marathi Bhasha Divas 2021

IICMR MCA had celebrated ‘Marathi Bhasha Divas’ on the occasion of the birth anniversary of noted Marathi litterateur V. V. Shirwadkar, popularly known as ‘Kusumagraj’ on Saturday, 27th February, 2021 at 1.00pm. Dr. Deepali Sawai Director MCA wished student for Marathi bhasha Divas. Students presented various thoughts and poems about Marathi Bhasha Divas. Entire program was in Marathi. Program was concluded by the vote of thanks given by Ms. Vandana Pednekar.

Shivjayanti 2021

Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti was celebrated @ IICMR today, 20th February 2021.Students attended the event online as well as offline. The day was celebrated to honour the courage and sacrifice of the great warrior. Dr. Deepali Sawai , Director IICMR performed pushparchana on the portrait of Shivaji Maharaj and guided the students on the occasion. Students shared their thoughts and views. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Vandana Pednekar.

Constitution Day Celebration Nov 20

Constitution day was celebrated under the Academic Social Responsibility initiative of IICMR which was organized by MCA department on 26th November 2020 . The event commenced at 11.40 a.m. in the presence of Teaching and Non- Teaching staff of IICMR-MCA in Auditorium. The programme formally commenced by reading of the preamble to the constitution and reaffirming our commitment to its ideology.

On this occasion, Dr. Priya Deshpande read the preamble along with All staff. Ms. Vandana Pedanekar coordinated the program.

International Yoga Day 20

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, IICMR organized a online workshop on ‘Wellness through Yoga’ on 23rd June 2020. The main aim of the workshop was to let people know about the amazing and natural benefits of yoga. This year due to COVIND 19 pandemic International Yoga Day is celebrated online. Mr. Sanjay Mathapati, ASR- MCA Coordinator hosted the program through Microsoft team and demonstrated yoga with the help of pre-recorded video for the audience. The videos were prepared by Sport teachers Ms. Rupali, Ms. Priyanka, Mr. Sonawane, Mr. Sagar Deshpande, Mr. Nilesh. The audience was eager to perform all the asanas. All the ,MCA, students and teachers have participated in this event from convenient places. Program ended with vote of thanks given by Dr Priya Deshpande.

On 18th February 2019, Shivaji Jayanti was celebrated in the Institute. The Program started with Deepprajwalan by the Director Dr Abhay Kulkarni, Director-MCA Dr Deepali Sawai and Chief Guest Dr Pote. Plastic Mukti Abhiyan

On 24 April 2018 our MCA Students collected Plastic and E-Waste form the people in IICMR Campus to make Eco friendly Green environment. The Activity was conducted in association with ECA-Environment Conservation Association, Chikhali Pune. All students and faculties participated in this activity. Plastic waste such as Plastics Containers, Small and big polybags, water bottles , plastic toys etc. and E-waste such as CD, DVD, wires, computer, laptop, hard disks, cables , electrical Equipments etc. are collected under this activity. Kerla Flood Relief Fund Donation

ASR@IICMR-MCA in association with Lions Club district 3234 D2 Pune took the initiative and appealed all IICMR Staff and Students to Contribute for Kerla Flood Relief Fund. The program was organized on 20th September 2018 at IICMR Auditorium to handover the School related Material to MJF Lion Dr. K.M. Roy , Chairperson, Lions Club. About 1200 notebooks were handed over to Dr. K.M. Roy.
