Expert Lecture on : Soft Skills Training Workshop

Barclays, in collaboration with Plan International and Elios, conducted an impactful soft skills training workshop on 19th October 2024 as a Life skill Programme initiative. The workshop, led by Ms. Bhargavi Kulkarni from Elios, was designed to enhance participants' interpersonal and professional competencies.
Key Highlights of the Workshop
Goal Setting: The workshop explored the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) framework to guide participants in aligning their personal and professional aspirations. Participants engaged in an interactive exercise to define short-term and long-term goals. The participants were asked to draw their goals. Real-life examples illustrated how effective goal setting drives success and motivation.
SWOT Analysis: The workshop introduced SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis as a powerful tool for self-assessment and strategic planning. The participants were guided to reflect on their personal and professional strengths and areas for improvement. Ms. Kulkarni explained how to leverage opportunities and mitigate potential threats in dynamic work environments.
Time Management: A vital aspect of professional success, time management techniques were a core focus of the workshop. The trainer shared practical strategies, such as the Eisenhower Matrix, prioritization methods, and effective scheduling. Participants gained insights into overcoming procrastination and staying organized under pressure.
The workshop was highly engaging, with activities designed to foster active participation and practical learning. The participants found the workshop to be enlightening and applicable to their daily lives. Many highlighted the interactive approach and real-world examples as key strengths of the training. Feedback indicated that the workshop enhanced their ability to structure goals, analyze situations critically, and manage their time effectively.
Outcome: The skills acquired through participative learning equip individuals to adapt, grow, and succeed in various aspects of life, making them integral to personal and professional development.

Expert Lecture on : Zoomba Dance Session

The Zumba Dance Session was led by a professional Zumba instructor, Ms. Deepali, who ensured that the students received expert guidance. The event began promptly at 9:30 am and was well-attended by enthusiastic MCA students. The Zumba session included a variety of high-energy dance routines and music that kept the participants engaged and motivated throughout the hour. Participants had the opportunity to learn new dance moves, improve their coordination, and have a great time while burning calories.The participants expressed their satisfaction with the event, stating that it was a refreshing break from their academic routine. They appreciated the professional guidance of the Zoomba instructor and the energetic atmosphere of the session.
Outcome: It achieved its goal by building a positive mindset among the participants for the regular workout required for fitness.

Expert Lecture on : Art of Living Meditation

The meditation Session was led by a professional instructor, Mrs. Sanjana, who ensured that the students received expert guidance. The event began promptly at 11:45 am and was well-attended by enthusiastic MCA students. The Art of Living meditation session was a successful initiative aimed at promoting mental well-being and mindfulness among MCA students. The practical techniques taught by Mrs. Sanjana Mungale were well-received and left a positive impact on the participants, making the session a valuable addition to their holistic development.
The session comprised the following benefits:
• Introduced the students to the practice of meditation as a tool for enhancing mental clarity and emotional stability.
• Practiced relaxation techniques to reduce stress and promote overall well-being

Many students expressed interest in continuing meditation practices and attending similar sessions in the future.
Outcome: Students gained insights into managing their emotions and thoughts better through mindfulness.

Expert Lecture on : Zumba Dance Session

We had an incredible time on 3rd March 2024, as MCA 1 and 2 students joined together for a lively Zumba session conducted by the amazing Ms. Anushka Desai and the energetic Sagar Sir! Our main aim for conducting the event was to improve students' fitness levels and flexibility by helping them involving themselves in performing Zumba.
The energy was infectious, and the moves were on point! A huge thank you to our fantastic instructors for making it a memorable and fun-filled experience. Participants enjoyed the music and the fun atmosphere. The workout was effective and enjoyable, with many feeling they got a good workout.

The Zumba Dance Session was led by a professional Zumba instructor, Ms. Sanjana, who ensured that the students received expert guidance. The event began promptly at 3:00 pm and was well-attended by 74 enthusiastic MCA students. The Zumba session included a variety of high-energy dance routines and music that kept the participants engaged and motivated throughout the hour. Participants had the opportunity to learn new dance moves, improve their coordination, and have a great time while burning calories.

The session comprised the following benefits:
• Promoted physical fitness and well-being among the students.
• Provided a fun and interactive way for students to relieve stress and enjoy themselves.
• Encouraged social interaction and teamwork.
• Increased awareness about the importance of regular physical activity.

The participants expressed their satisfaction with the event, stating that it was a refreshing break from their academic routine. They appreciated the professional guidance of the Zumba instructor and the energetic atmosphere of the session.
It achieved its goal of promoting physical fitness and fostering a sense of community among the students

Expert Lecture on : ‘Health is Wealth – Zumba :Lets Go Sweat ’

The MCA Department always try to imbibe academic excellence and co-scholastic values through various programs. MCA Department organized one day Zumba Session very happy on physical fitness of our students. This was a dance based exercise form that seems more like a dance party than a workout. This form of workout combines all elements of fitness like cardio, conditioning balance, flexibility, energy booster, along with that, there is a feeling of exhilaration and amazement once one leaves the session. A person burns approx 600 calories per hour, increases self esteem, reduces stress, builds endurance and co-ordination, strengthens lungs and heart, and tones the muscle. All of this will be done in the form of a dance without feeling the pain of a workout.
The workshop was of 90 minutes includes Zumba and some stretching exercise followed by relation session. This workshop was conducted by a fitness instructor, Dr. Ashwini , who is a licensed Zumba Trainer.

Expert Lecture on : Workshop on Life Skil Learnt in Pandemic

Like every year this year too, IICMR MCA organized 10 days of Life Skill Development Activity. Under this, the students were trained in Finance for Non-Finance professionals by Mrs. Rosy Mathur.
The second activity was a team-building activity to develop synergistic team spirit, innovation and development. The theme for the activity was – Life Skills learnt in Pandemic.
The students were divided into 8 teams and were asked to create videos/podcasts as per the theme. They were asked to post it on the social media platform.
The eight teams were :

At the Prize distribution ceremony Dr. Deepali Sawai, Director IICMR MCA appreciated the students and felicitated the Winner and Runner up teams. Due to Pandemic, it was organised online but few teams representatives were present for the ceremony. Students shared their experiences. The team Lockdown Saviours won with maximum points. The whole activity was very well coordinated by Ms. Vandana Pednekar.

Expert Lecture on : Workshop: Cake Making and Sanitizer Dispenser Making Activity

IICMR -MCA Department organised Lifeskill Development Activity on "Cake Making and Sanitizer Dispenser" for MCA Students between 5th to 9th January 2021.On Day 1,The cake making activity was conducted by Ms.Jayashree Kshirsagar who is successful entrepreneur and proud Alumni of IICMR.She demonstrated making biscuit cake with 3 ingredients,then she showed making of Nankatayi and Chocolate Balls.Many students showed their cake making after the session as well.Students loved the session on cake making. On Day 2,The sanitizer dispenser making activity was conducted by Ms.Pooja Kalange,LifeSkill Activity Co-ordinator .She conducted the demo session to the students and explained different types of of methods to prepare sanitizer dispenser through MS teams with live video session conducted in Auditorium .

Expert Lecture on : Workshop: Combat COVID -19 with Personal Protection Kit

IICMR-MCA department organized Life skill Development Activity on “Combat COVID-19 with Personal Protection Kit “ for the Students of MCA II & MCA III on 7th July 2020 to facilitate entrepreneurship development and contribute their responsibilities towards the society. All the MCA staff and students participated in this activity. Ms.Pooja Kalange Lifeskill Activity Co-ordinator demonstrated the making of Hand Sanitizers, Face Mask and Hand Gloves to students. Considering the importance of Life Skill Development Activity under this pandemic situation IICMR-MCA under the visionary guidance of Dr.Deepali Sawai (Director IICMR-MCA) has taken initiative to train the students by conducting this Activity.

Expert Lecture on : Paper Bag Making -Lifeskill Development Activity

Notification from Hon.ChiefMinister Mr. Devendra Phadnvis, Govt. of Maharashtra, to ban on Usage of Plastic Carry bag and Thermacol been publish in April 2018 . In response to this IICMR-MCA department organized "Go-Green –Paper Bag Making " drive for the Students on 3rd& 4th Jan 2020 for MCA-II and 13th& 14thJan 2020 for MCA-I to protect the environment from plastic bag and to fulfill their responsibility towards the society. All the MCA staff and students participated in this activity.. Considering the importance of over usage of Plastic bags IICMR-MCA has taken initiative to train the students through faculty “ how to make paper bags with news paper waste”.

Expert Lecture on : Developing Team Building & Marketing Skills through the production ,sale ,marketing through Stall Life Skill activity.

IICMR-MCA department organized "Life skill Development Activity " for the Students of MCA on 14th August 2019 to facilitate entrepreneurship development and contribute towards the society. All the MCA staff and students participated in this activity. Considering the importance of Life Skill Development Activity IICMR-MCA under the visionary guidance of Dr.Deepali Sawai (Director IICMR-MCA) has taken initiative to train the students by conducting Funfair Stall activity where various food and game stalls were established.

Expert Lecture on : Garland Making

The 2nd and 3rd year started with semester subject orientation, goal setting for the academic year.
The MCA Department Organized the 3 days Life Skill Development Activity as a part of group mentoring , to develop synergistic team spirit, developing their skills in marketing, planning, selling , negotiating, market surveying, product innovation and development along with team building
The students were divided into 6 teams and were taught to make Garland out of ribbons and were asked to market and sell the same by improvising, planning making maximum profit.
